Helping Leaders and Teams Stay Steady Under Pressure

I help leaders and teams stay steady under pressure; not by asking them to push harder, but by creating the conditions where people can exhale, think clearly, and work well together.

Most people don’t need to be more resilient.
They need work environments where it’s safe to be human: to speak honestly, reflect openly, and respond thoughtfully when things are hard.

That belief sits at the heart of my work in leadership development, resilience training, and psychological safety.

Why this work matters to me

I’ve worked in high-stress environments and teams under strain, and I know the quiet toll that pressure, poor communication, and self-censorship can take.

I’ve also been part of and led high-performing teams where trust, challenge, and collaboration coexist. Where people feel seen, heard, and supported, even in complex or high-stakes situations.

What I’ve learned through these experiences is that the difference between a high-performing team and a struggling one is rarely talent or effort.
It’s how well people do the simple human things consistently.

Connection.
Compassion.
Curiosity.
Clear communication.

That’s the work I help leaders and teams return to.

Before becoming a leadership facilitator and coach, I spent years working in high-pressure healthcare environments where communication, trust, emotional regulation, and human connection directly impacted outcomes.

That experience continues to shape how I work today.

I understand what pressure does to people and teams and how quickly emotional states spread through a workplace.

My work focuses on helping leaders and teams develop the steadiness, awareness, and communication skills that allow people to function well together, especially during challenge and change.

How I work

My work supports leaders and teams in high-pressure environments to build resilience, psychological safety, and clear, effective communication.

My approach is practical, grounded, and heart-centred. I blend evidence-informed neuroscience, leadership development, and experiential learning to help people:

  • Regulate stress and strong emotions
  • Think more clearly under pressure
  • Communicate with greater trust and honesty
  • Build psychologically safe, resilient teams

I don’t offer off-the-shelf programs. Every engagement is intentionally tailored to the people, context, and realities at hand.

A bit about my background

I’m a resilience educator, psychological safety facilitator, and team coach with over 27 years of experience helping people function well together under pressure. My back ground spans critical care nursing, health sciences, leadership development, facilitation, and coaching.

Before moving into this work full time, I spent years working in high-pressure healthcare environments where communication, trust, emotional regulation, and human connection directly impacted outcomes. That experience continues to shape how I work today.

Since 2011, through my company, Tailor Making Health, I’ve designed and delivered customized training and coaching for leaders and teams across municipalities, healthcare, first responder organizations, high performance athletes and athletic teams, and other people-centered workplaces navigating pressure, change, and complex human dynamics.

I’m known for my grounded presence, practical tools, and ability to create learning environments where people feel safe enough to reflect, learn, and move forward together.

What guides my work

My philosophy is simple:

Calm is contagious, so is good leadership.

When leaders are steady, teams feel it.
When teams feel safe, performance follows.

That’s the ripple effect I help organizations create.

If this resonates and you’re looking for training, coaching, or speaking that is thoughtful, practical, and deeply human, I’d love to connect.

Practical, grounded work that creates meaningful shifts.

Clients often describe stronger communication, calmer leadership, healthier team dynamics, greater trust, and a renewed ability to navigate pressure and change more effectively together.

In some organizations, this has contributed to measurable outcomes such as reduced sick leave and overtime costs, stronger workplace culture, and improved team performance.

For individuals, the work has supported greater confidence, steadiness, clarity, and the ability to move through challenge with more intention and self-trust.
