About Sara Wegwitz

Sara Wegwitz is a Resiliency Educator, Psychological Safety Training Facilitator, and Workplace Team Coach. She specializes in transforming workplace well-being through “bite-sized” immersive training and coaching programs.

Sara brings over 25 years of experience and education in the fields of critical care, health sciences, program development, facilitation, leadership, and coaching. Since September 2011, she has been offering reputable programs that are tailored to meet the specific needs of organizations and groups. These dynamic programs consistently deliver results. Some of these results include a 40% reduction in sick and overtime costs; a consistent 3:1 ROI on health and wellness programming; gold medals at athletic World Championships; building more resilient and resourceful people; and enhancing workplace cultures. In addition to delivering these types of results, she has been described as a gifted listener, dynamic presenter, perspective shifter, and compassionate supporter of her clients and workplace teams.

She has a demonstrated and proven track record working with first responders (police and fire), health care professionals, branches of the federal, B.C., and S.K. provincial, and municipal governments, athletes and athletic teams, corporations, and non-profit organizations.

MENTAL FITNESS AND RESILIENCY TRAINING AND PROGRAMS

Sara has created and facilitated a wide variety of training focused on building mental fitness and enhancing resiliency. These types of training sessions have been provided to several fire departments in BC, RCMP, Corrections Canada, Transport Canada, First Nations Health Authority, BC Ferries, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, University of Victoria, VI Paddling, MSR Solutions, Cold Star Solutions, and the public. CUSTOMIZED ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS

Sara was the primary creator and facilitator of the Oak Bay, Esquimalt, and Central Saanich Fire Departments’ customized health and wellness programs. These programs were designed to help firefighters improve how they eat, move, sleep, and think and were tailored to the specific needs of the organization and its members.

Sara has presented her health and performance program work and results with fire departments at the Fire Chiefs’ Association of BC Education Summit (June 2018) and the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs Conference (September 2017). She has also written several articles related to firefighter health and well-being for the journal Firefighting in Canada.
